I’m still here! Unintentionally took a long break from my easel. Life has me pretty busy. Getting everything in order to start our next homeschooling year. Been sick. Been sewing. Been feeling rather frazzled and crazy… because I haven’t been drawing. So today I sat myself down and drew this… Debating on how to paint […]
Finished this up today! All trimmed and lightly sealed. Reapplied the highlights after spraying the fixitive. This one is my first pastel drawing. You can still see some of the paper color in his face and some areas of his jacket. Previous efforts left no paper uncovered! Used Stabilo CarbOthello pastel pencils almost exclusively. A […]
Just finished this today! It is a portrait of a friend and awesome storyteller. The link to his website is below the picture there. He’s also here on Facebook. And he’s a published writer too. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about why I draw in order to write this thing called an “artist statement”. It is hard to […]
Here’s my effort for the Diva’s Weekly Challenge to use your initials as a string. It is on its way to my sis who is seriously ill. And the Doc’s don’t yet know the cause. Hoping they find it soonest!

Very multimedia this one! Ink, colored pencil, a smidge of pastel and my favorite media… instant coffee. It’s almost steampunk-like I think. It’s going out as a thank you card tomorrow!
Two efforts this week for the Diva’s Weekly Challenge: Diva Dance & Crescent Moon duotangle. Different sizing this week so that I could turn them into cards and send them out to a couple of people near and dear to my heart. I hope they enjoy them!
Coming back after all those faces last month with this week’s challenge from Laura Harms. The challenge was to use the tangle pattern Charlie by Erin Olson. It’s a new one for me. Never used it before. Though in the tile below, I didn’t really use it as much as making it more of a […]
