Volunteered at Cedar Creek again Saturday which got me thinking about horses. (and the adorable Miss D) So, in light of the effects of the 29 Faces Challenge, I’m setting a challenge for myself! 29 horse head drawings. Here’s the first two: It will likely take me more than 29 days to get through that […]
Tadaa! I did it. And what an amazingly inspiring thing it was. Here’s one for number 7, seems I skipped it. O.o Hoping I can carve out a little time in the mornings to keep practicing. I’d love to be able to do portraits! But for the next 6 weeks, I’ll be “studying” for my […]
Water-soluble pencil. After yesterday’s selfie, my daughter wanted me to do a sketch of her. So here it is! I worked from a photo snapped this morning. The chin and forehead aren’t quite right now that I compare to the snapshot. Children’s facial proportions are so different! I’m learning that if I go back over […]
Well, whadaya know! It kinda resembles the reference shot of… me! That is a FIRST. It’s a little off proportionally, kinda making it look a little like a caricature, but I’m okay with that. Water-soluble graphite.
Watercolor and water-soluble graphite. Pretty happy with this one.
Long time no blog! If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you know I’ve been up to this “29 Faces Challenge” thing. It’s really gotten me inspired to do more artwork. (maybe even start selling it!) And got me thinking that I need a more visual blog! So I changed the theme to a […]
Water-soluble graphite. Very happy with his expression!
Just water-soluble graphite. Not too happy with is. Guess the muse just wasn’t with me. Oh well. There’s always the next one!
The family tells me that #19 looks like winter and #20 looks like summer, so I tried with this one to do a “spring”. Eh. Is okay I s’pose. Meant to do white petals with yellow bases.
New favorite! Watercolor and water-soluble graphite. Thought some of #19′s feathers were rather leaf-like so was inspired to do this. Want to do a fall color version too!
