Lookee what I bought! How I found it is as circuitous as the finding of the “little nut tree” nursery rhyme.
I’d responded to an email of free packing peanuts on freecycle. (I use them in bean bag chairs I made for the kids.) The location of the packing peanuts was a local bike repair shop. Sam’s bike needed repairing anyway so I could kill two birds with one stone. Cool! I love it when that happens.
This mug was for sale at the bike shop. Seems the mother of one of the repair guys makes these and they are selling them for her. I fell in love with it instantly! The shape and color are perfect. Even the tilt of the handle makes it perfect for a lefty.
The designs are pressed into the clay using spare bicycle parts.
I have a dream that some day, all my daily dinnerware will be hand made. If not by me, then someone else. This is my first purchase to that goal.
